Advent: Animal Kingdom

The third light of Advent is the light of beasts--
All await the birth, from the greatest and in least.

My family always had a ton of pets. When it wasn't kittens constantly running around the house, suddenly we had a cage full of birds and a tortoise to top it off as well. If we had guests coming out that day I would put little signs around the house such as "tortoise crossing" by the front gate or "bird aviary" by the huge sliding glass door that separated the house from the indoor patio. I wanted to pretend that my home was a zoo just so I could introduce the strangers to all our beloved animals. So when christmas season came around, we definitely had more stockings then that for my brother, mother, father and I. 

When this week of advent came around I made sure my loved ones got a little more attention. Plus my brother and I couldn't wait to see how silly our cats would get when they finally got to play with their cat nip stocking stuffers.
